About

Spice Tasmania is part of Crooked Enterprises, a family business based in Campania in southern Tasmania.

Here, with the help of Tasmania’s temperate climate and clean environment, we grow fresh herbs for restaurants and specialty grocery stores.

Spice Tasmania produces Old Agony Breakfast Pepper and Old Agony Fish Pepper, two mixes based on the unique wild Tasmanian pepper, and Southern Ocean Jade Salt, which combines sea salt with spices and seaweed gathered from the clean seas around the island.

We are constantly working on new products and we hope you’ll visit us regularly for stories and information about herbs and spices.

I discovered the Agony Fish Pepper in the Salamanca Market last October, while my visit to your beautiful Tassie. The flavour of the pepper involved my whole lugagge … but it’s a wonder. I have never taste such a wonderful pepper like this. Here in Spain we eat a lot of fish and this condiment is perfect. I was so worried I did not bought more, but endless I’ve found your internet address and I made an order.
Hopefully there will be no problem for you to send me the order to my home address in Barcelona, Spain.

Thank you and my sincere congratulations for your wonderful products.

I bought a bottle of the old agony far too hot chili sauce after meeting the manufacturer. I like this sauce. The pineapple really comes through giving a pleasing sweetness that’s very more-ish. The initial flavour is zesty, followed sweet pineapple and then the chili tail. This sauce has visible pieces of chili in a medium red liquid that’s got a good consistancy. A superior sweet chili sauce.
I tried this with prawns, coconut cream and rice but I expect this sauce would go well with just about anything and I’m looking forward to Far Too Hot poached eggs next!

I’ve found Jade Salt at the boat which sells fish at Victoria Dock last week in my beautiful Tasmanian holiday. I really love this salt! And I’m really sorry for not buying Agony Peppar and others.

I’ve brought back them to Japan, and I gave it to my friend who is managing the marine products company. She is very very interested in Jade Salt!!!! We live in Tokushima Prefecture of Shikoku is also very famous for its “Naruto” wakame. We would like to introduce Jade Salt for Japan. My friend really loves to sell the products from wakame.
I’m so sorry that I’ve bought only two packages of Jade Salt, and no Agony peppar or others. We would like to have more!

Please send me the e-mail, because we’d like to ask you to send more Jade Salt and other products. or if we could, import them to Japan.

Thank you very much and looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello,

I bought some of your Old Agony Pepper on-line last year and now I notice you no longer have a Web Store.

Am I still able to order from Sydney?

Also, when my order shipped last year, you kindly included some Tagorashi which was absolutely brilliant. Do you also have this Tagorashi for sale?

Kind Regards,
Robert

I was given a bottle of old agony far too hot chilli sauce for my birthday from a brother in law who knows I love extremely hot stuff :)

I just want to thank you so much! This is honestly the best tasting chilli sauce I’ve ever had. I eat some pretty darn hot chilli pastes, and whilst I wouldn’t rate it up there as one of the hottest, I am quite sure this is the most delicious chilli sauce I’ve ever tasted!

It’s a lot like a relish. I’ve gone through a whole bottle now and extremely keen to stock up on more.

I hope you continue making this brand. I searched here on your website but couldn’t find a link to the product. Please tell me where I can buy more. It’s absolutely delicious! Thank you.

Hmmm. Seems like a lot of people would like to know where to get these products outside of Tassie. Maybe some sort of reply from the company would be helpful? I’m in Sydney and would love to get hold of some.

Hi there, My daughter brought a packet of Jade Salt for me to try, and after using some in my Gravlax recipe it gave a whole new meaning to the flavours of the sea. As I live in Brisbane and have tried numerous places no-one stocks it. Is there a way of buying your products on line? Would like to know as I am running out. Thank you.

Jean Mathies November 13, 2009 at 8:31 am

Like most of the messages I bought some Jade Salt in Tasmania and would like to know where to buy some more and to try some of your other products. Is there a retailer anywhere near Toowoomba.

Dianne November 13, 2009 at 9:58 am

In common with many of your other subscribers, I have just used the last of my Jade Salt purchased whilst on holiday in Tasmania and would like to buy some more. Do you have a WA distributor, or can you let me know who stocks your product in Perth/Fremantle? I’d really appreciate it if you could advise.

Marina November 15, 2009 at 5:26 pm
